This fall, the Hector Fellow Academy is launching a second application round and will once again offer fully funded PhD positions. Until October 15, 2025, young researchers with an excellent Master’s degree are invited to apply. The advertised doctoral projects are located at the intersection of biology, medicine, and neuroscience, as well as in the history of science.
The Hector Fellow Academy supports outstanding young scientists in the natural and engineering sciences, psychology, and medicine. Successful applicants will receive funding for up to four years in the form of a research assistant position with the standard salary at the university of the supervising Hector Fellow. Hector Fellows are leading scientists from across Germany who distinguish themselves through outstanding achievements in research and teaching in STEM fields, medicine, or psychology.

Doctoral researchers at the Hector Fellow Academy benefit not only from comprehensive financial support and supervision by outstanding scientists, but also from additional key advantages such as an annual research budget of €9,500, training opportunities in management and career development, and participation in networking events.
