Bernhard Schölkopf was awarded the German AI Award 2020

On October 1, 2020, Hector Fellow Bernhard Schölkopf received the German AI Prize in the category AI Innova­tion Prize, which was awarded for the second time. Bernhard Schölkopf was thus honored for his many years of "appli­ca­tion-oriented top-level research in the field of artifi­cial intel­li­gence". In the press release accom­pa­ny­ing the award ceremony, Schölkopf is described as "the most inter­na­tion­ally respected AI researcher and one of the most forma­tive person­al­i­ties on the German AI scene".

A jury consist­ing of outstand­ing repre­sen­ta­tives of AI appli­ca­tion and research decides on the award of the AI Innova­tion Prize, which is endowed with 100,000 euros. The prize is awarded by the daily newspa­per WELT and supported by several indus­try partners.
