Application portal opened
This year, the Hector Fellow Academy will once again support promising young scientists with a fully funded doctoral position and their own research budget. From January 15 to March 31, 2023, interested candidates can submit their own research project or apply for advertised doctoral positions of a Hector Fellow or Hector RCD Awardee.
Hector Fellows are outstanding professors who have made significant contributions in STEM fields, medicine, and psychology. Each year, the HFA awards the Hector RCD Award to excellent young scientists between postdoc and professorship with the aim of promoting excellent scientific careers. 2023 doctoral positions are advertised in the research groups of Peter Hegemann (Biology), Christoph Klein (Medicine), Brigitte Röder (Psychology) and Jens Timmer (Physics/Mathematics).
The young scientists who successfully complete the application process will receive a position as a research associate for up to four years at the university of the supervising Hector Fellow or Hector RCD Awardee with a salary in line with the institute's standards. In addition to further training on management topics and coaching, the doctoral candidates themselves become part of the interdisciplinary network of top researchers.
