Agnieszka Nowak-Król is a Professor and an Emmy Noether group leader at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Institute for Sustainable Chemistry & Catalysis with Boron of the University of Würzburg. Her research lies at the interface of organic, inorganic and materials chemistry. Agnieszka Nowak-Króls activities focus on functional chiral π‑conjugated organoboron compounds, unprecedented elongated helicenes, boron-doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and photoswitches. She also develops potential inhibitors for cancer therapy. Her field of expertise also includes synthesis of various functional dyes and their applications in nonlinear optics, organic electronics, photovoltaics and supramolecular photosystems.
She is a recipient of the Humboldt Research Scholarship, the Wojciech Swietoslawski Award, the Zonta Award, the Arnold Sommerfeld Prize, and the Thieme Chemistry Journals Award, as well as a number of other scholarships and awards. She is a member of the Societas Humboldtiana Polonorum, Soltech, the German Chemical Society (GDCh), and the Polish Chemical Society.
