Hector Fellow Bloch receives award for outstanding services to science and art
Immanuel Bloch received the Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art this week from the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder.
The Maximilian Order is the highest ranking honor for outstanding contributions to science and art in Bavaria, currently only held by 90 other important figures.
He received the order for his pioneering works in quantum physics resulting in a new and interdisciplinary field of research at the crossing of quantum optics, quantum information processing and solid-state physics: the exploration of quantum many body systems.
Congratulations to Immanuel Bloch!
