Young Scientist Rodrigo Fernandez Lahore is contributing to three publications in 2022
Young scientist Rodrigo Fernandez Lahore, who is working on his doctoral project in the research group of Hector Fellow Peter Hegemann, has contributed to three studies which have been published in Nature Communications in fall 2022.
Rodrigo Fernandez Lahore is lead author of the article "Calcium-permeable channelrhodopsins for the photocontrol of calcium signaling", which focuses on the calcium permeability of channelrhodopsins and was published in late December 2022 (Nat Commun 13, 7844 (2022)). Two other publications to which Fernandez Lahore's research has contributed relate to the permeability and ion selectivity of channelrhodopsin (Nat Commun 13, 7253 (2022)) and to the origin of fluorescence and its voltage sensitivity in microbial rhodopsin (Nat Commun 13, 5501 (2022)).
Rodrigo Fernandez Lahore is a doctoral researcher in the Hector Fellow Academy since 2020. He is conducting research at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in the discipline of Biophysics in the group of Hector Fellow Peter Hegemann on an interdisciplinary project funded by the Hector Fellow Academy entitled "High-resolution optogenetics with organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs)". The project takes place in close collaboration with Hector Fellow Karl Leo, Department of Physics, from the Technische Universität Dresden. Furthermore, the young scientist Giuseppe Ciccone is involved in the research project.
Congratulations on the publications!
